A Japanese band-LOVE PSHYCHEDELICO
My Host server was down last night and this morning again. I知 up only on my top (index) page. But |-( umm.
In autumn season the colleges have a sort of festivals; they will have miss and mister contests, (This is the guide page of Sophia Univ.), lecture presentations, concerts, etc. Actually college festivals are a good chance to see a nice concert for a reasonable price. Is this the same in your country?
I wrote about the CD Jacket of Asian Kunfu Generation before. I did not know this; their CD is No.1 in music charts now. So their live performance will be the hardest one to get a ticket for this autumn. :-)
Anyway some graduates of the college I went to are succeeding very much in Japanese music scene. One of them is Southern All Stras. I do not listen their music, but some of their songs remind me of my college days, on the campus so well. Their love ballad Ellie, My Love was covered by Ray Chalres.
And LOVE PSHYCHEDELICO, will have live performances in Seoul and Hong Kong this autumn. I think they are cool. The Vocalist is a woman and she sings in mixture of Japanese and English. Lady Madonna is their debut song, and I like this Last smile. This is their second released. 60s / 70s Rock taste!? What do you think?

It depends on where you go to college or university, but there are some pretty reasonable prices for shows here in the States.
The radio stations here usually put on one or two festivals a year, and they can be fun.
I for one like to go to jazz or blues clubs to listen to music. It's not easy to find them where I live, it's not exactly Chicago or the South.

I adore Pizzicato Five! My favorite: "Twiggy Twiggy/Twiggy James Bond"

They are not that bad, they remind me soooo much of Shirley Crow. I just don't like the LA accent and the mixture of Japanese and English.
Do you know any Japanese chansonnier?
(like for instance Georges Brassens, Leonard Cohen, Fabrizio de Andre', Paco Ibanez, etc.)
I would be surprised if there are none, but I have been looking for them for quite a while and could not find any.

PSYCHEDELICO eh? Are they a Pizzicato Five look-alike? I love P5 and the singer Nomiya Maki (so sexy voice) and their sound. Must check PSYCHEDELICO (another Italian style name, like Pizzicato).
About http://www.tokidoki.it/ actually he is an Italian illustration, picture designer, very fond of Japan. Love pictures he does and the sushi race too!

I LOVE LOVE PSYCHEDELICO!! :) this is great! I am always looking for bands to buy (music is great for learning a language) but sadly trying to find Japanese Music online is to tour teen idol hell. I do not know the names of bands, but certainly Southern Allstars comes up alot as well as Mr Children, Speed, Morning Musume and Hirai Ken..to name a few of oh so many, but while I enjoy pretty much everything, it's hard to find music that I would enjoy listening to enough to buy a CD to play for hours while I'm painting or designing graphics. I have been fortunate to find stuff by Shena Ringo, and I like that song Jupiter by Ayaka Hirahara..she's got an amazing voice! Thank you for writing about this. Definitely something to add to my pitifully small Japanese CD collection. :D
