Turky Rice!

The PSP game Talkman has a new version TV ad. The young guy said"we will marry." I prefer the old versions.Now Nintendo DS has releasedan English learning program too, it's EIGO ZUKE (soak in English). Their copy is "I have to do something with English." Yep, English isa big problem for many Japanese. And TV ads show people who pretend to understand English. Here and check outmore at arrows under the window player. By the way, I wrote beforethata Turkish student protested Japanese naming"sexual club"after Turkey. Then he caused thechanging of the name of those type of places in Japan. I understand his anger and it was so insensitive. We have some stuff namedfor other countries andcities like Yankee and American dog. But in many cases, we don't know exactly why we call themsuch.

Today I foundsome morestuff namedafter Turkey. We call this super "anything goes" foodTurkey rice. It seems to bea special food of theNagasaki area. I hardly see it in Tokyo. Rice, ketchup-tasting Spaghetti, pork cutlet, and curry; this combination is the basic type. Rice can be fried rice, pork cutlet can be hamburger. This is a steak version. They say this is a Turkey rice too. It seems to be Okosama Lunch for adults, and it would be so highin calories. Ahh it's such junk. Nobody tells the reason why they call it Turkey rice. I wonder if Turkish people dislike that weuse the nameTurkey for such mysterious food.

It could be named after "kumpir", which is a Turkish baked potato with all sorts of crazy toppings.
Europeans also used to prefix almost any new exotic food with "Turkey" or "Turkish". That's how turkey (the bird) got its name- it was called "Turkey fowl" despite being from North America.
