What is your favorite PORK food? This is the ranking of "my favorite pork food" on the Internet.
1.Tonkatsu (pork cutlet)-recipe : It is very hard to find people who hate Tonkatsu. I don't eat it often because it has high calories. Katsu means "win" in Japanese. So students eat this food the night before an entrance exam or sports game for good luck. When you come to Tokyo, I really recommend to try a Katsu sandwich, especially Masen's Katsu Sandwich (thanks nice blog).
2.Shogayaki (Ginger Pork)-recipe : I love ginger pork. If you don't have mirin, you can use honey. It will make the sauce mild and a little thick. By the way, we add shredded cabbage to Tonkatsu or Ginger pork. I heard only Japanese eat uncooked cabagge in that way. Is it true?
3.Tonjiru (Miso soup with pork and veges)-recipe : Tonjiru is really warming food, so it is good for camping. I did not see all it, this s a movie about "how to cook" in English. Thanks!
4.Gyoza (Japanese dumplings)-recipe :I think Chinese dumplings are steamed or boiled usually. But in Japan, fried ones are popular. I love mom's homemade Gyoza, but I hardly cook at home because it takes a long time to cook. So I eat frozen one when I want to eat. Deep fried Gyoza is yammy too.
5.Kakuni (Braised Pork Belly)-recipe : I wrote about a very easy way to cook this kakuni. Use coke! I found this article. Ha Kakuni promotion! it's intereting.
Here is rest of the ranking.
6.Okonomiyaki (Japanese pizza)-recipe :
7.Buta shabu (pork shabu shabu)-coly type recipe:
8.Buta man (steamed buns)-recipe : We hardly cook this at home, it takes a long time to cook and we can get it easily at the convenience store and it's cheap.
cheap. 9.Subuta (sweet sour pork)-recipe :
10. Nikujyaga (Simmered meat and potatoes)-recipe:
In Okinawa, they eat pork a lot. A famous one is Tonsoku (leg) and you can buy pig face at the market without any problem, but it is hard to find in other areas in Japan. I heard pork fat is not bad for our health and it would be reltaed to their long life. Of course I love Okinawa food!

Cool. ありがとうございますマリちゃん。
Looking forward to see a popular tofu food ranking :)

Hi Mari, entry! And most importantly......recipes! It was interesting to see that 5 of the items in that list were regular items we cooked back in Australia during our university days. Keep it up!

Miyabi Te, the restaurant located inside
the Mitsuwa market, serves tonkatsu with curry rice. I don't know if katsu refers
to a something that is fried a certain way.
Thursday, Miyabi Te serves a fried chicken
dish which I think is called chicken katsu
or katsu chicken. Maybe I should try it out tommorrow.
