I picked "What the World Eats" from TIME. We can see part 2 again. I want to know if the chicken in daddy's arm is food or pet? In this Luxembourg. And Canadian people love to eat polar bear? (They say it is their favorite food.) Ah! Greenland people like polar bear too and also seal stew. What is the black thing in the right front?
This is the ranking "favorite Japanese Beer in Japan." on the Internet.
No.1 Kirin Ichiban Shiborithe TV ad. They ride Yakata-bune in Tokyo Bay. Ahhh, looks yummy that tempura. Actually Kirin Ichiban Shiori always has such Yummy TV ads and made me hungry.
No.2 Asahi Super Dry: Their ads are always sporty. Matsui and Matsuzaka appear on TV ads now.
No.3 Yebisu Beer: Their site is always beautiful. Now they are tied up with a travel agency and produce trips to the Japanese Ryokan.
No.4 Kirin Lagar Beer: That lady is the famous singer "Yuming". For people in their 40s and 50s, she is the symbol of young days. Kirin Lager will set its target for those generations.
No.5 The Premire Molts:This beer got the Mondo selection Grand Gold Medal for the third straight year. The guy is the rock musician Eikichi Yazawa. He looks cute on the TV ad. I like this Sushi shop one.
I hardly drink beer, though those ads make me "need beer!!" My favorite one is Chimay, not Japanese beer.

Hi Mari, I love your blog! Anyway, have you tried either of the Hitachino Ales? Really delicious. (Oh, and the label is adorable, but that did not influence my opinion!)

In Nara City in Nara Prefecture there's a bar called "WooKoo Bar" that serves Duvel, Chimay, Kwak, and one or two other Belgian beers. They even serve them in the appropriate glasses (the Kwak glass/wooden holder thing is really cool).
You can find Chimay in Osaka at Don Quixote, and I also found it in Kobe at a place very similar to Don Quixote (I forget the name, but a multi-storey shopping place with lots of random crap) near Sannomiya.

I wonder if that black thing in the Greenland photo is the narwhal skin the picture mentions. Narwhals are like Beluga Whales, but males have a unicorn horn.

Chimay! Wonderful, powerful stuff. Yes, it can be bought here, at least in the department stores and supermarkets in Tokyo area and other big cities, and in better liquor shops. There are a few Belgian beer bars already, my favourite is called Brussels in Kanda.

I sure hope that chicken in the picture from Luxemborg IS a pet, or else I don't wanna know that they do with the poor doggie!! :(
Canadians eating polar bear - NOT!!! As usual, the media likes to sensationalize everything. Polar bears are endangered and it is illegal to hunt or kill them unless one is trying to kill you (self defense). Also, the location of the Canadian family is the Canadian Arctic - very few people live there. The majority of Canadians live within 75 miles of the US border and do not eat polar bear! I don't know about Greenland, but I do know I don't like that Time article!

Ahhh ! Chimay ! I live not far away from there (Belgium), really tasty beer. I had a question for japanese beer lovers : is Belgian beer well known in japan ? Is it cheap or expensive ? I once thought about opening a belgian beer bar in Tokyo... Who knows...
Did you know 4 different Chimay beers exists ? "Chimay rouge (red)", "Chimay Bleue (blue)", "Chimay Blanche (white)" and "Chimay Dorée".
