This is the most crazy news I found today. That is the sketch of the suspect that Thailand plolice made...ah...

I picked guys's fregrance AXE here, here because their ADs and site were alreasy crazy. I found today foriegn AXE TV ads, lookd at this weired...orz.

some weird news

Odaiba Brian sent this topict yesterday, Nessie appeared in Odaiba. That Nessie was made from a fountain. Since I am working near Odaiba, I wanted to check it but I would appriciate if they have it in summer time. It is the coldest season in Japan now. By they way, a guy threw himself from Raibow bridge in Odaiba and died. This is the first time I heard someone commited suicide on Raibow Bridge. The news made me remember the movie "Bridge".

Today, I found many weird items in foreign sites and Japanese sites too.

First one is "doll house"....orz...smell of illness.

Next one is "Mysterious, doughy blob clogs sewer". I guess it would be Pizza dough..he he he.

This is crazy ; "The bill bathwater additive". The name of the product is "Bubble bath". What abominable taste.

I still get mails about hikikomori because of this old post. Someone sent me this movie from YouTube yesterday. Check it out.

Shiritori(last and first) is a sort of word play. I enjoyed when I was a very little kid with my mom to learn words. This would be a movie which a foreigner made (I guess) but their sample is so bad. Even though you can't understand Japanese, you may see it on the movie.

Popular dog ranking 2008 in Japan

DuskTwo strange foreign news items:  Allentown man charged in two homicides and 'I'm a human pet': The Goth teenager whose fiance walks her around on a dog lead. We had a manga and TV show "Kimi wa Pet" ( I wrote about it in this post) , but that news can be joke.

Brian sent me this topic "Bizarre Virus Threatens to Kill File-Sharers". That virus was reported in Symantec. A college student was arrested a few days ago, he made a similar type of  virus (animation character appeared). The news said he looked so surprised to be arrested. Those guys won't have a sense of guilt, maybe.

Here is the ranking of the popular dogs in Japan 2008. Hm, people love small dogs, but actually there is not enough space to have a big dog in urban areas in Japan.
1. Miniature Dachshund
2. Chihuahua
3. Toy Poodle : In Japan dark brown poodle were popular because people the color fitted to teddy bear hair cut.
4. Japanese shiba : I love Shiba, they looks very smart.
5. Yorkshire Terrier
6. Papilloin
7. Pomeranian : Shibaken hair cut is popular now in Japan.
8. Miniature Schnauzar : looks pretty, I have to be reminded of sausage from that name..
9. French Bulldog : Cut, if I have a dog, french bull dog or Jack Russell Terrier, I like short hair dog.
10. Shih Tzu

Can you eat??

Choco Two sad car accident here and here....(ha ha ha don't laugh, it's so serious)

A Japanes sweet shop sell a beetle larva chocolate. They have another larvas too. Sorry impossible to eat for me.

I didn't know (Japanese air line) TV adthis crazy ANA . Was this aired in North America? Have you ever seen this before?? But maybe their way would be okay because Tokyo is the best geek vacation place. right?? (thank you! I like the best always :-) By the way, ANA has strange ad sometimes, this was the one they opened Chicago line.*

It's snow

SnowWe had snow in Tokyo this morning, but it turned into rain now. Since this winter is warm, I think it was the last snow we could see this winter. Unfortunately I have to go out to Akihabara on buisiness tonight. I wish I could enjoy walking in snow.

I picked the interesting U.S bill's legend in this post. I read a book about bill origami having good sales, here is the site of the book.

Nobuo Takahashi is a Japanese CG artist, I found these two movies on YouTube: Musashino Plateau and Japan. Both videos seem to show the developing of Japan after WW2. But in the Japan video, it stopped suddenly, meaning the bubble, they said.

A tough pudding cup

Morozoff Looks very good ;Transparent toaster" .

Looks very crazy ; cat costume. What is this "Prince Alan"? Totally it cost around $200??? It's more expensive than my stuff!!

I ate a pudding today and I remember I read a good story about pudding before.
Morozoff is a Japanese sweet company establised in 1931. We have many Morozoff shops in Tokyo now, but originally the shop opened in Kobe first and Kobe people love Morozoff very much. Morozoff is well known for thier pudding. Since Morozoff's pudding is in a very tough glass cup, some people keep the glass after eating the pudding. Actually, they said every person in Kobe would have a lot of Morozoff's pudding glasses at home; some said their pinchpenny character (it's a typical character of west Japan) made them keep them. In days of old, such free glass cups were appreciated, but recently nobody cares about them, so that Morozoff cups were used for plants, flower vase or gargling.
In 1995, Kobe had  Great Hanshin earthquake, 6,434 were killed and over 250,000 houses were broken and people lost their place to live. But many people found the Morozoff's pudding cup in the wreckage of houses. Expensive fine dishes were all gone, but only Morozoff cups were still there. One lady who lost her mom and her house also found a few Morozoff's pudding cups at her broken house. She said the guys who were working for helping people and Morozoff's pudding cups showed her that toughness was more important to survival than looks or money.  That will be so true. So many Kobe people are reminded of the Great Hansin earthquake when they see Morozoff pudding cups still now. I read such a story.

I wrote about Kansai (west Japan) people sometimes; The difference between Tokyo and Osaka, Osaka has lower Ore Ore Fraud damage, Osaka is angry now. and maybe more in past. In those posts, I said often Osaka people are pinchpennies :-). But basically I like Kansai poepole very much. They are tough and never forget laughing.

Best selling items on mail oerder in Japan

Sensoji Two nice topic from foreign sites,
Waaaaaaaaaa!! Oh, what are they doing!, he looks like he has a booty fetish :-) This is very good, smoking jacket, you can see what is going on your lung while you are smoking.

Ohhhh Kakkoii!! (cool!!) Japan HDR. HDR is high dynamic range imaging, they made effects to HRD photos. Japan looks like the world of Game or Horror movies :-) I like regular neighborhood this and this. Really looks evil. I like new areas and buildings but when I see these photos, I understand that old and traditional places have a lot of charm .

I wrote about Molester (Chikan in Japanese) before, because of only women's car and harder penalty, I guess the number of molesters is getting lower, but still we have them and maybe the number of false accusation is getting higher too. To prevent such false accusation, a mail order magazine "Tsuhan Seikatu" sells a strange item "my own hand strap" (524yen), even if you are in the center of the train and there is no strap, as long as you have this, nobody will accuse you. Ha! It looks like a silly joke item, but they sold out all 50 pieces of stock in one day!! Actually Tsuhan Seikatsu is not joke magazine; they sell very nice and useful items. Here is their 2007 best selling items. Since the target of the magazine is middle- and old-age, the list is severe but I think the quality is nice.

1.medical pillow (made in Italy) : the pillow is used at many hospitals, it’s good for your body structure and stiff shoulders. Hmm I want it.
2.Book shelf : the big one can have 600 books.
3.humidifier (made in Swiss) : I hate air heaters, so I use an oil heater at home. I want this at my work.
4.Sanyo rice cooker : We believe that rice cooked in the traditional way (pot and fire) is delicious. This rice cooker can cook rice in similar way
5.Codeless vacume. : Codeless cleaner is weak usually, but the cleaner is powerful because it’s made for business use.
6.Balance chair (made in Norway) : I want this very much. I have very bad position when I sit.
7.Sawing machine : the point of this machine is soooo slow speed. It’s not scary.
8.Step Machin (made in USA) : I had one before but I sold it.
9.film mirror : Since it is a film, it's very light, and it's easy to hang on anytype wall..
10 Boze CD player : It has compact size and good quality sound. *

Yattaman is flaming now

YattaI found three foreign "Are you okay?" news. This is very serious, "Air Pollution Could Shrivel Sperm's DNA". It will be in only urban area in China but still it is much, much bigger than Japan, we need to take this issue our global issue. This is not my problem; "oh brother", I don't know how much they spent for trial; it might be more than the land is worth. Hmm I don't like this idea, let Col. Sanders sleep in peace: "PETA Headstone Hides Anti-KFC Secret Recipe"..

I wrote about Japanese TOY "bowlingual" and "meowlingual" but this seems a serious one: "Scientists develop computer that can 'translate' a dog's bark". Ohh dog say "ball", "alone", "play!" cuuuuuuuuuuuute. cuuuuuuuuuuuuute. too cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute.

Yattaman is now "enjo" (Flaming). Yattaman is an anime TV series aired in 70s. It was one of TIME BOKAN series of Tatsunoko production (you know them by G-force or Speed racer). The OP and ED themes were made by Masayuki Yamamoto and he sang by himself. This year, Yattaman was remade and aired on TV again, and other singers now sing the OP theme with their own original arrangement. But that new theme fell completely into disrepute. Singers were 50s rocker and 40s guiatalist. The melody is slow and a little bit low-key. People just say "Ossan kusai!" (smell of old men??), here is it, check it out. Finally, a few days ago, Masayuki Yamamoto wrote in his blog, "I was so disappointed to listen to them, I heard that a young idol singer would sing it, and it was my fault that I accepted it easily without making sure of everything"...something like that. Today TV production which makes Yattaman released the following comments "We got a lot of mails and comments about our TV show Yattaman's theme music, we listened sincerely to those opinions and we will use them to make a better show." Hmm this means they will change the theme song?? It's interesting. By the way, Yattaman will be made into a movie this year, Sho sakurai of Johnny's group Arashi ("nino", who acted in "A letter from Iwojima", joins the group and will play Gan chan, Kyoko Fukada will play Doronjo, (people say he was miscast!). Here is a good cosplay of Yattaman. To tell the truth, nobody is looking forward to it. We had a lot of bitter experiences on live-action movies based on animation: Casshern, Devilman, Gegege no Kitaro etc,.

New usuful robot

Goatrug Wow! Cute Fleted goat, I want to try to make it, very nice!!

Active rise is a small manufacturer that has released a round PC mouse  wood type Piter, metal type Escher, decolated model Deco, Japanese fortune doll Daruma and Maneki Neko, you can make your original round mouse with their DIY kit too. Hmm funny.

I found a new robot. Japanese self-sufficiency food ratio is now less than 40%. Actually, older people sustain Japanese agriculture, so I am not sure it will be up in the future in this crisis situation. Tokyo University of agriculture developed a corp work support robot. The 8 motors move and provide power, helping to carry its own weight, and reducing it to around 10 kg or so. In a demonstration, a college student lifted 20kg of rice, but said he hardly felt the weight. Wow great, this might be another job like construction or nursing care. Japan has to think of a future with fewer children and less population. That type of development will be useful.
