That Japanese curry fan wrote another article about Japanese curry on Wired. If you don't have any Japanese curry shops near you, please go to a Japanese or Asian food store. They will carry instant curry like this. They’re not bad. By the way, Andrew linked me to this site: "Americurry," which is a Japanese curry restaurant review site. I guess Japanese curry is getting popular in the US!
 
I wrote before that horror manga creator Kazuo Umezu's house is very colorful and that his neighbors went to court to stop him from building it. The lawsuit was rejected and he is living in that colorfully striped house now. Recently, photographer Mika Ninagawa published the Umezu house photo book: "Umezz House" and the house become a hot spot in Kichijoji. Actually we can even buy Umezu house souvenirs. That house is cute, but I really want these small bags. Very Cute!
 
I don't know when this internet meme originated, but have you ever heard of long cat? Some Japanese person uploaded the photo of a white cat with a long body on the Internet, and it became a popular meme. Now, when you search for the words "long cat," you can get many results. It was made into a T-shirt and even into a mug and necktie. I am totally addicted to the internet, but I never knew about this meme. Strange…

A bean character with the face of a Shiba dog is called Mame-shiba. It was created by Dentsu as a cute new character. Their TV ads are funny: when you eat beans, you accidentally find a mame-shiba and you can eat it because it’s so cute. By the way, we call a factoid or trivia fact a "mame chishiki" (bean knowledge), which explains why the peas offer their little bits of knowledge.

Ahhhhh I want this so much. My friends will understand this joke(I hope). "No Wild Style" is a cool sites collecting such nice things and design in the world, love it.

Tokyo game show 2009 has started, you can see reviews on the Internet. In the show, Square enix releases new trailer of FINAL FANTASY XIV and I read downloading "sample of metal gear solid peace walker" is hot.

Charlie le Mindu's hairy creations at London fashion week . Hmm is this real fashion show or some art works? Since I love hairy stuff, I can wear those fashion though. By the way, I think old Japanese hair style was cool in that standard.

Teaching English In Japan Is Awesome

I have acrophobia, I am especially afraid of spiral staircases. But if there is a window or bar, I am okay. I can look down to the ground and enjoy skyscrapers and tall buildings. I have a friend who is also acrophobic, his condition was worse and he could not enjoy high places like Tokyo Tower at all. However, he got married and bought a nice apartment on the 45^th floor! Finally, he overcome his fear and could sit on his balcony to see the skyscrapers. You can overcome acrophobia like that and there is also this machine, which provides height simulations for overcoming acrophobia.
 
When this tiger swims, he closes his ears and nostrils, so his face looks super scary in the water. Look at this... He is not angry, he is just trying to keep water out of his nostrils and ears... but….
 
This is very funny: "Teaching English In Japan Is Awesome and Sometimes Hilarious." I don't know why the student chose to write about pants, but my friend said that he was often asked about sex, masturbation and the size of a guy's THAT in the classroom. It's a lack of social etiquette on the part of the Japanese. (Poop obsession is different from this, I guess). I like the comment "pants are man's romances, that is so Japanese." Yes, yes, we are so romantic, right?
 
I laughed at this too: "How Japanese View the American Police (Magazine Cover)." Wow that's bad, sorry about that. But at least there are enough fans of American cops that warrant such a magazine to be published. Actually, I found something much worse: "evolution of people." Wow! Japanese evolution is great, I like it.
 
I remember that my Canadian friend's wife is a frog lover and had frog motif stuff all over their home, even in the bathroom. I remembered her when I found this shopping site: "cave," which is a frog items shop. I don't like frogs so much but some of the items are very cute. I like this and this and also this schedule notebook.

mille feuille pork recipe

My mom made a great food, similar to mille feuille, but with sliced pork and eggplant. First you need some sliced meat, preferably pork. I think some Korean store in the US will have it. Then you need some eggplant, which you cut into long thin slices. You take the meat and eggplant and layer them alternately, like a lasagna, in a fry pan. Then you cover it and steam is so the juices from the eggplant and meat mingle. It sould make one shape, like a pie. So you slice it and serve with some sauce, which is made from sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, and dashi (bonito stock). Please try it. It's delicious. You can include sliced onions, cabbage, or napa cabbage too.

   Popular Japanese cartoonist Yoshito Usui, whose manga and animation series 'Crayon Shin-chan' has attracted a worldwide fan base, has gone missing on a hiking trip. And last night a man's dead body was found but he would fall down from mountain trail to bottom of a ravine, police couldn't judge it was him or not from his face, but finaly toady they announced it was him because of teeth mark. Wow we can't read new crayon shin chan anymore.

Nippon (Japan) all stars in McDonalds

To get people excited about the Sydney International Food Festival and celebrate international food, national flags of participating countries were recreated using popular local foods of each nation.

McDonald Japan started "Nippon (Japan) all stars" campaign. It means tMcDonald sell again Japan original Burger that was very popular in past. Now it is Tsukimi Burger and from 25th it will be Chicken Tatsuta. Tsuta age is marinated fried chicken, checken is marinated in soy sauce and sake before fired. I like tatsuta burger.

This is funny "Things The 80’s Child Shouldn’t Have Thrown Out". This might be a list of North America. In Japan, talking of 80s fashion, it will be bodicon (Body constious), girls in disco wore so tight clothes to show their body shape. And Shibu casi(Shibuya casual), casual fashion who hung round in Shibuya where is mecca of pop music or pop culture was called Shibu casi. And also I should pick DC brand (designers and character brand), representetive brand would be Comme des Garcons of Rei Kawakubo and Y's of Yoji Yamamoto. Even such big brand have lost power, many DC brand disappeared already.

chabudai game

I wrote this post a long time ago that we have "spo kon manga/anime". it means sports and tough spirit manga/anime. The main characters of these stories try hard and get to be a winner in some sport. You can think it will be close to like the first Rocky but the big difference between spo kon manga and Rocky is basically spo kon manga is dark and sometimes sad. It might come from the thinking that you can get victory from burden and pain. It might fit to the feeling people had after ww2 though, now it's too old and we don't have such manga/animation (I guess). The representative works of spo kon anime were "Star of the Giants" and "Tomorrow's Joe." I remember I felt happy when the main character laughed because it hardly happend in the story.

Anyway in "Star of the Giants", the main character Hyuma's father turned over the table because of his anger. Since such scenes appear in this manga so often, it was made into a figure!! and finally it was made into an arcade game by Taito which they released at the Tokyo Toy show. It is called "Chabudai Gaeshi Game". Ha ha, for Japanese it would be intereseting, but I guess it might not make sense for foreign people.

the author of Crayon shin chan disappeard

Ha ha ha ha ha ha this is from the real Amazon Germany site. They show an aluminum baseball bat, and below, where it say's "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought...", it shows pepper spray, a ski mask, and leather gloves. And then AFTER those items, there are baseball balls and gloves, which you would expect to accompany a baseball bat. So, are people buying these as a kind of "robbery" set? It's one stop shopping for the robber on the go. It's a little bit amazing.

 The author of Crayon Shin chan disappeared. According to a person concerned,　a family member took in a missing persons report to the police on the 12th. Since he said he would go to the mountains, it might have been an accident, but thinking of the Crayon Shin chan utsu story, there may be another reason.
