This series of Sony PS3 TV commercials is weird, it's a conversation between a PS3 console and a green onion. This green onion is called "Banno Negi" in Japanese, which means useful onion (because we can use it for various type of foods and cooking). They're trying to get across the message that the PS3 is useful and has many functions.
This is the first commercial:
G: This is the first meeting?
P: Yes it is.
G: I am Banno Negi.
P: I am PS3. Nice to meet you.
G: Nice to meet you.
P: You are useful indeed, you are used for so many meals.
G: You have many functions also.
P: Yes, I can let people enjoy the internet on their TV.
G: In my case, it's "Negi yaki"
P: You can also enjoy 3D at home.
G: In my case, it's Nuta.
P: And you can watch terrestrial digital media broadcasting via PS3.
G: Oh, and "negi negi ramen".
P: Not only games...
G: Not only toppings...
P: Sorry, I can't follow this conversation.
G: Ha ha ha, no you can't.
The chain sushi shop "Kappa sushi" has a series of weird TV CMs too:
Hello, I am at Kappa sushi!
Ah! Ah! Ah! One sushi is just 90 yen. 90 yen!
Please come and join me!
Oh, you will come? Okay, I will start first, join me later.
