Still, my week has been tough. ha ha ha, no problem, I will survive.
Since I introduced the person who gives me inspiration and energy, yesterday, today I will introduce the site that really relaxs me. I Loooove this site called Nobody Here. Even thought I am down, this site tells me "que sera sera". This site is created by a guy from the Netherlands and has a English and a Japanese site. I suppose some Japanese fans of this site offered their translation services... of course, such a wonderful site will be loved by people all over the world, by not only me, but many many Japanese love this site. I feel the contents of the site has the rhythm of a poem, a little close to haiku, "repose" "sentence" and "repose". So Japanese may take to "Nobody here" naturally. his way is very comfortable, and yes very natural for me.
And the entire site was designed with much white space. For Japanese, white space is important component of design. A good example would be this site called Karesansui which depicts landscapes with only a few rock formations and groomed, or combed, sand. You can see this design at many Zen temples in Japan. Here is a nice site to see a Zen structure. I heard this white space accents our ambiguous comminication style. For western people, it maye be annoying or not familiar :-). White space and repose are essentail factors in understanding Japan and the Japanese. And "nobody here" has such type a thing. Oh yes, one lovely Ducth site makes me think of this...
One of my favorite sites here in the States is in my hometown of Portland Oregon. It's a Japanese style garden, much like the one you described in you post. I spent hours there on my last vacation. It was very peaceful.
