Konami has released Metal Gear Solid 3/Snake Eater for PS2 at 2004.12.05. I do not play games, but I have heard a lot about this survivlal game very well and I know it is very popular. Then when I saw the TV commercial for this newest one, I burst into laughing so much. I checked the web site, but I could not find an English version TV commercial. Maybe they do not make it, they have long trailers, but they are not fun at all.
Look! this Japanese version TV commercial. You can enjoy this as a funny joke of mismatch of jungle and Oyaji or, Japanese middle man.
For example we say Oyaji is.........
Read newspaper in the crowded train.
Wipes his face with the towle at the restaurant.
Say Oyaji Joke. (it makes us chilly).
Suit color is Grey, of course.
Rest room is the only place he can relax at home.
At the moment to soak in a bath, he has to groan "ummm".
At Karaoke place, he is intoxicated with himself.
But I MIGHT guess this is a message of " Do not disparage the Japanese middle age salary men's abilities!" If it is the order of the office, he would "生き抜く=survive" without having question. he he he
I only play Taiko no Tatsujin at the game center when I go to Japan. I'm not good, but it is a lot of fun!

The oyaji commercial was great! But I admit to being a little confused about what "oyaji" means.
When I think of "middle man", this person is a go-between, someone who helps two different parties to achieve a business result (or arrange a marriage, or whatever).
I wonder if you mean "middle manager", who would be someone lost in that great crowd of faceless business structure, slowly working their way up (or not) through the corporate ladder. Or possibly "middle aged salaryman"?
This reminds me of the salaryman husband of a good friend who collects "tanuki" because of a kakekotoba on a verb with similar pronounciation. I wish I could remember the verb...

This CM is funny...it reminds me of my coworkers talking about the PS2 and Xbox games they play. They have oyaji minds、と思います.
I only play Taiko no Tatsujin at the game center when I go to Japan. I'm not good, but it is a lot of fun!

Great commercial. Almost like the rat race salarymen have to deal with each day (in metaphor)!
Except for that surprise ending. Not sure how often that happens in real life. Sure most salarymen would appreciate that if it did! =P
