I am
getting
mouldy.
The last two weeks almost every day was rainy. Today it was a general
holiday, "Sport Day" and some schools were planning
on having an athletic festival, but of course they had to cancel. I was
relaxing
at home, yes I was a total lazy bones. Finally I will begin to cook
something for dinner. Since it is cold today, maybe
I will cook hot Korean soup and rice!!
Yesterday I did not
finish to write about Harajuku, so I will finish it today.
Meiji
street connects Harajuku with Shibuya. Comparing
it to Takeshita street, along the Meiji street, there are big stores,
major brands shop like Beams, Anap, UNIQLO etc,. But the landmark of Meiji
street would be Laforet Harajuku. Laforet Harajuku
opened in 1978, then they have been always a face of Harajuku because of
their cool sense. Recently Nagi Noda works for them as their art director. She is
the designer of Hanpanda (irony for popularity of giant Panda? Maybe)
. I like her
creations like this and this. Laforet has art
galleries, Laforet Museum, Lapnet ship, Lapnet club.
A recent event in Laforet Museum was a movie NANA (popular manga), Lapnet
ship had Furi Furi
company's (art design group) exhibition. Please check their site, it's
very pop Japanese taste. Lapnet Club has events of Nostalgic Perler, they
have cute beads
arts. (check
gallery page)
Omodesando connect Harajuku and Aoyama area. Along
the street, there are Dior, Tods, such luxury boutiques. And next year Mori building will build
a new land mark to Omotesando "Omotesando Hills". Comparing
it to Takeshita street, people walking around there are more sophisticated.
Kiddy Land has
a different mood in this Omotesando, but we can't talk Omotesando without
Kiddy Land. Actually I heard some celebs from foreign countries visit
there often. Kiddy Land is a toy store, most of all they have a huge
selection of
charactor items. They say relaKuma is the most popular character in
KiddyLand. I like "Livly" which is
characters of
the communication web site "Livly Lsland". This is
a cute video "what is Livly."
Here
is the best selling toy ranking in July 2005.
1.i-dog ( cheaper
version of aibo)
2.Tamagocchi (this was boom before, then they have returned with
version up)
3.Tmagoccchi Red
4.Jigorou Hand dall ( not cute, but he was
character in a TV show before)
5.Puchika (small remote car,
a cell phone can work as a remote)
6.Rubic
Cube
7.Flat ball (came from America )
8.Relakuma Stuffed animal (lazy bear)
9.Pettit Sample
(miniature )
10.Walky Bits (turtle walk automatically, we can use cell
as a remote )

You should move south - it's still hot and sunny in Kyushu! I'm a big fan of Kiddy Land, I like going there for silly birthday gifts.
