Axe's commercials are equally nauseating in the US, pushing many of the same buttons. But they are only targeting fairly young boys, maybe 14-22 years old; maybe their customers want a rebellious image.

It really seems to be the brand strategy is to have an awful image among anyone older than that, so that they can effectively appeal to their narrow demographic.
