Onitsuka Tiger is a kind of legendary old Japanese sports shoes brand. Their site r"made of Japan" is cool which displaying a mosaic shoe made of tiny images that links to something Japanese on the web.
There are small rivers near my house. Cherry blossoms bloom along the rivers. Beautiful, right? But maybe these are gone by this weekend. The cherry blossoms are so fugacious, we love them. I really love this TANKA. I thought I would write about it today, Actually I wrote about it last year.
Saigyo Hoshi who is famouse poet read this poet.
「願はくは 花の下にて 春死なむ そのきさらぎの 望月のころ」
If I have my wish
I will die beneath the boughs
laden with blossoms
Spring, the night of the full moon
I like this too, tanke of Onono Komachi who is said really beatutiful woman.
「花の色は 移りにけりな いたづらに 我が身世にふる ながめせし間に」
"The flowers withered,
Their color faded away,
While meaninglessly
I spent my days in the world
And the long rains were falling." (Donald Keene)

ah..the blossoms have been here for almost 3 weeks now...most of the sakura are done. I didn't have a chance to take pics this year...too busy. :( wish I was there taking pics instead.
sadly the one poet seems to have captured the life of the average corporate slave here in the northwest. so busy with the pointless daily routine and avoiding the outdoors for the incessant rain. still one the days when it IS sunny, I could lie underneath one of the flowering beauties and happily breath my last. spring, beyond it's soggy premise, is an infant's kiss promise of warmth and sunshine to come. It gives me some emasure of comfort to contemplate the coming summer..even if I am forced to spend the majority of it indoors. :( at least there will be sun. *hop!*

Old legendary sports shoes... What a lovely thought. It makes me remember my childhood "Tretorn" sneakers made in Sweden. How we used to live before the era of multinational brands. One day, noone on Earth will be old enough to remember clothes that had no logo...
