This was an interesting article of Slashdot "NASA "Bed Rest" Contractor Blogs the DaysComments". Please check her blog. I was surprised to see their food schedule. It's too good and I guess they will gain weight after Bed Rest.
This is a collection of photos that Japanese picked "Ah! it's Japan!" Do they match to your image for Japan too? I like them very much and I feel they are so Japan. Even the same sunflowers won't be the same for Italy or other countries. Humidity or sunshine or such elements, I would catch from the photos.
This is an funny picture book "mo satsu". It means "imaginary shot". Guys can work their imagination more by themselves and it'll be sexy and better sometimes. Will you agree?
The World Cosplay Summit 2008 is held in Nagoya. The deputy mayor did cosplay (He got to be Kurosaki Ichigo of BLEACH. Without hearing that, we couldn't tell it) and welcomed people in the city hall. Today the winner of this year was picked. It's Brazil. Since I am not a big anime or manga fan, I don't know which character they were, though they did a pretty good job. :-)
When I wrote about Hikikomori first on my blog, there were no articles on wiki, but now they have it. The Japanese case is well known, though other Asian countries has the same phenomenon. Why do Asian countries tend to have this issue? What is related to this issue? Religion? Tatemae society? Or we are judgmental more than other people? I am not sure. By the way, this is the game "Hikkikomori Quest RPG v1.01.1". It says "Welcome to your miserable life. You are a hikkikomori, a shut-in with no desire to contact the outside world, and your life is in a rut. However, something has moved you to stop living like this. Yes, something of great importance, so important that it is a matter of LIFE or DEATH." Will you try Hikikomori?

Many Westerners will think of Japan as robots and skyscrapers and high technology. But almost all of the photos on that page show the countryside and not much development. Perhaps this is also honne and tatemae...
