I got a mail from this guy. And his blog looks very nice. I like this post "Top 10 Reasons to Come To Japan (in the movies).
Check it out.the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and France. We have some French cultural events in Japan and also France ha some Japanese cultural events. Today we have this news, lighting designer Mikiko Ishii light up some Japanese art on Seine. One of them was Maruyama Okyo's Yukozu (Tiger). Originally the tiger was Fusumae (paper door art) at Konpira san. The Tiger drinks water of Seine. I wanted to see it!
This article was interesting. Why enemy character has silver hair on Japanese game. One American asked him like that. Good example would be Sephiroth of Final Fantasy Vll. He ( and I ) don't know why, but I he guess that since we hardly have such hair color, silver hair character looks eccentric and mysterious. On the other hand, he wonder why western game character are middle age guy. Grand Theft Auto IV, Gears of War, Half Like 2. They are all 30s. He guess it would be related to Hollywood movie. Arnold Schwarzenegger,!Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford et,. A guy who has had a certain amount of life experiences fight to enemy and help family, friends and sometimes America. He guess that would be one reasons of the western game can't be sold well in Japan. Because in Japan, teenagers rebel to adult and grow up, such story is resonated with young people. And also he found there is difference between Japan and and Western countries about dead body. Japanese are more nervous for dead body, so that there is no dead bodies on Dragon Quest after you killed a huge amount of monsters to up your levels. Dead monsters disappear as white smoke, that's all. However in western game, some dead body left for a while after you kill him. He said it would be related to religion. Japanese tend to think soul and body is a unit. Dead body is not just a body, it is him. Here is web translation, enjoy.
