Quarter Pounder has come to Tokyo, Japan. They opened shops in Aoyama and Shibuya on November 1st and there are long lines in front of these shops. I didn't need to try Krispy Kreme, but I wanna try the QP this time. By the way, Krispy Kreme still has a line in day time. Thinking about their business situation in the world, it's a kind of mystery, right? Now there are only 4 Krispy Kreme in Japan, but I don't think it's good to open new shops in the Tokyo area anymore. We get tired of things so easily, not enough is a good balance for people's interests.
Basically I won't be in line for food, but I did sometimes before. One such case was this " Ramen Nakamuraya". There are only two shops in the Kanto area and both of them have long line always, one of them is near my house. I wanted to eat their simple ramen. One of them is Oyakodonburi of Tamahidein Ningyocho. It was okay but I don't think I will try it again, it's not so special. One of them was Taiyaki of Naniwaya Sohonten. It has not so sweet red beans (anko) in crispy thin skin. It's pretty good and I wanna eat it soon.
Anyway since I have no good topic to pick up today, I will write what I ate for my lunch. It was my hand made lunch box. Half of the box was filled up with white rice with furikake "Noritama". And I filled up another part with three types of meal. One was Ishii chicken hamburg. It's easy to cook in morning time cause I should boil the bag for three times only. I won't say it's super delicious, but it's okay considering the price. (100yen for one package) Another was some cut vegetables of corn, green beans and carrot, "mix vegetable", then I added some cooked egg (we call it tamago yaki) I like a little bit sugar and make it sweet slightly. This lunch box is really close to mine actually. Of course I hope I can enjoy a more gorgeous lunch but I have no time, I prefer to going home earlier than enjoying nice lunch outside. But I know no over time job or good lunch time, it's strange I have to choose it.
Gran encantó, le estará esperando tus mensajes futuro

Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man?living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn’t want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer and burn and scream until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you and he needs money.

A press release from McDonald's (at least according to a few other blogs) says that this is just to create buzz marketing for the Quarter Pounder (not yet on menus at McDonald's in Japan) as it's introduced.
Dr. Tantillo's just published a post on McDonald's on his marketing blog, in which he praises McDonald's for being so flexible and adapting to demand but prefaced this with: "The big things about McDonald’s cosmetic image (i.e., colors, designs, clown mascot) have never essentially changed. Neither has the basic serving and restaurant setup."
Guess they are even more flexible though... Tantillo's full post
Even though this is supposed to just be temporary/buzz marketing, I wonder if cultivating this sort of aesthetic wouldn't make sense for them--a move to diversify their holdings (they own a significant portion of Chipotle, or did last I knew) and expand/diversify their customer base (Ex. their 'unsnobby coffee' campaign. Tantillo did a post on
Starbucks/Dunkin' Donuts mentioning McDonald's coffee, too.

Quarter Pounder is really just McDonald's Quarter Pounder. But they are being very careful go avoid mentioning McDonalds. It is supposed to be a new trend in advertising...viral advertising.

hirugohan oishii sou ^_^
I bring my lunch everyday too because my office is too far from any shop or restaurant.
I think it is a nice thing to get up in the morning and prepare lunch. It gives us something nice to look forward to later in the day.

Don't know if you've heard yet, but the folks in "Obama" Japan might be pretty happy now. It's official - the new President of the United States shares the name! Omedeto gozaimasu Obama-sama to Obama!

Gomen nasai! Sorry to post this again, but I am really hoping someone can help me:
Tasukete kudasai
I am sorry if this post is off-topic, but I am hoping Mari-san or others who post here can help me.
My two very good Japanese friends are taking a vacation to Nassau, the Bahamas in two weeks. They are currently living in the US (3 years on business). Their reading and writing skills in English are ok, but they are currently working on improving their conversation skills (I am their teacher). Nassau is very British, so communicating in English while there is likely their only option!
We/they can't find any travel brochures/information about Nassau in Japanese (I emailed the Official Office of Tourism for Nassau with no response).
Any ideas where I can find travel info/websites about Nassau in Japanese?
Domo arigatou!
