Today is Jyugoya, it means 15th night and known as the full moon of autumn, was traditionally celebrated as Tsukimi ( watchin moon) n the fifteenth day of the eighth month of the old lunar calendar. In Japan and another Asian countires, we say rabbit lives on the moon. So today, googl mark design is this one.
And now McDonald Japan has autumn special burger "Tsukimi burger". They used cooked round egg as moon. Here is ad of Tsukimi burger.

I've been visiting Japan during 2 weeks in october and it has been impossible for me to eat one tsukimi burger...
It is discontinued...
And now I can't eat one windows 7 one.

Chinese people still celebrate it. We call it the Mid-autumn Festival 中秋節。However, we say the rabbit is pounding medicine and not mochi.
I have too many mooncakes 月餅 and I don't know what to do with them...
