I support Obama's health care plan. The most important is not money, it's health. I won't say we have the best health care, as far as I know, the best is France, but Japan has nice one too and how it is nice we can go to see the docter without worrying about money when you feel bad. Here is a good post.
ha ha ha shoddy baby sitting.
I like this silly TV program, they tried to freeze guy's pants and make boomerang.
I found this site, "Japan is
weird", they show only strange photos about Japan, they do pretty good
job but unfortunatly site mix Japanese or Chinese, Taiwan, and Korean. This or this is not Japanese and this or this are photos of the joke book. Personaly something real
but silly is the best and funny to me. Anyway I feel I show strange part of
Japan everyday recently. Don't misunderstand I love Japan, I am very happy
Japanese.
I didn't know this memes "The Gendo
pose". Gendo is a character of the Neon Genesis Evangelion and the meme
came from his this famouse pose.
I like iGendo one, it's cool!
I wrote this on twitter today, so funny, I am thinking to make watashi_drunk hashtag and collect such drunk legend. "Ha ha ha! Police: Drunk Pa. man tried to revive dead opossum: he said another saw Wolfe attempting to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation." ha ha ha so funny
I found another strange video made by Japanese, it say the rule of Hanami, the company guy has to sleeping bag cause good spot is hard to get, so some goes to good the good spot and spread the sheet and keep it until other people come after work, strange? yes but it's a kind of important job that company admits.
This is pretty good one to know Japan, video made by Japanese. I really love this video. It's the best selection of Japan information. This video has Japanese original version, English verison has released finally.
Now Tokyo Motorcycle show is held now, cleaner maker Hanasaka G set intereting demonstration. They cleaned up a dirty old bike that was left for 20 years, only half. You can compare cleaned side and other, it's easy to know how cleaner work well.
Microsoft xbox Japanese official site is silly. Three Japanese
salary men try to survive in each game world. The samurai one is based on the story
of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who was born a peasant and worked for Nobunaga as a low level servant. He caught Nobunaga's attention when he kept Nobunaga's sandal in
his clothes to warm it in cold weather.
I like it when Japanese salary men appear in TV ads, this one is still the best though.
Ha ha ha, this is funny post from Japan Probe about the things that foreign
travelers like to take pictures of. It's funny that they think reading magazines at
a convenience store is cool! (why is it cool??) and also I didn't know that so many travelers take photos at Shibuya scramble crossing.
Nifty Portal Z researched the Yamanote Line Kiosk's snack recommendations. Some shops recommend Glico's Okara Dakara. The cookie includes 32% Okara (soy pulp), so it's lower in calories and rich in fiber. You'd think it's bland, but I can tell that it's pretty good. By the way, Jagarico is a popular fried potato snack. I read that some people add hot water to it to make it soft and eat it like mashed potatoes. Another way is to eat it sprinkled on top of rice with mayo. I knew that some people add it to gratins or salad, but I didn't know that it works as instant mashed potatoes. That's a little bit weird.
As for new food buzz, a Rayu boom has come. We eat hot red oil with Gyoza (Chinese dumplings). Usually we just add a little, using it like Tabasco. But recently, Momoya released "Karasode karakunai sukoshi karai rayu" (looks too hot, but it's not too hot, a little bit hot rayu)... I know, it's a strange name... it's mild and contains savory ingredients like fried garlic, onion, almond, etc. so we can eat it on top of rice. It's been a big hit and actually, I have never seen it in stores because it's always sold out. Now, another big spice maker, SB, released a mild rayu "Bukkae Okazu Choikara Rayu" (a little bit hot rayu topping).
Today is the 2nd day of my Twitter work, it's very fun and I will keep on tweeting. The good thing is that I've met someone who lives in the Tokyo area, it's
good to exchange information like "the Yamanote line has stopped".
This is interesting: the history of Japanese beauty. Has our beauty sense changed or has Japanese appearances changed?
What do you call this music? We call it "I Stepped on the Cat!" in Japanese. Wikipedia says that this song has 28 different titles throughout the world. In Japan, it has funny lyrics: I stepped on the cat, I stepped on the cat, I stepped on the cat so she scratched me with her nails. I stepped on the cat, I stepped on the cat, so she cried... something like that.
I went to the Katsushika Shibamata area, it's one of the locations from the movie Otoko wa Tsurai yo, which was directed by Yoji Yamada. "Otoko wa Tsurai yo" is the longest film series in the world with 48 episodes released in 26 years. Every New Year's, we would have a new Tora-san movie, watching the Tora-san movie signifies the first laugh of the year for old Japanese people. To be honest, I won't recommend going to Shibamata, if you aren't nearby, it won't be anything special unless you like Tora-san. But for many old Japanese people, this place touches their hearts.
This is a high tech bike storage system in Kasai Station in east Tokyo. We don't need such storage in my area, where people don't bike a lot, because west Tokyo has a lot of uphills and downhills, making it really tough to ride a bike.
I became a member of the Twitter team at my job and I found that it's actually pretty fun. So I'll start my own Twitter too!! I am still learning about it and now I figured out how to upload photos from my cell. I hardly write about my life in my blog, but I will update about what's going on on my Twitter account. If you don't mind that I write in both Japanese and English, please check it out. My account is watashi_tokyo. I will go out now and I will try to use it.
