I found this on Yahoo! Japan auctions: a life size Darth Vader. There are only two in Japan and this is one of them.
I was shocked to read this: How long for Lunch break? Japan. I thought that one hour is common throughout the world. Can you finish everything in 30 minutes?
I didn't know this, infini school is a bridal training school. Women join to win Kontatsu and find a husband! Here is a video of the lesson. They are serious, but I can't believe that this is the best way to find someone to share your life with.
Today was Gundam day, I found a lot of Gundam topics: The biggest event is the Gundam cafe. Bandai will open the Gundam cafe in Akihabara on April 24. We are looking forward to seeing the menu!
Next is this site for girls who like "Gundam models." Some of them make cute and sweet Gundams using feminine decorations. The funny thing is that some types of Zeon models look matronly because of their bulky bodies. Look at this Dom, it looks like a mom wearing an apron.
Personally, I got hooked on this model of a post-shower Char Aznable. He threw off the head towel, but I'm wondering if he's thrown off the other towel as well. :)
Texas daddy is a well known Japanese Internet sensation because he often talks about Japan and is supportive of Japan. :-) He was featured on a TV show before and finally his speeches were published as a book. Wow! Sometimes the Internet can really change a person's life.
I am not sure if I can explain this well. What do you call this dish? Asparagus Bacon Rolls? Bacon rolled asparagus? In Japan, we usually call it "ベーコンのアスパラ巻き" (69,500 results on Google), but it means "bacon wrapped in asparagus," which is not correct grammar. Using correct grammar, it should be called " アスパラのベーコン巻き" (asparagus wrapped in bacon), but that version only had 1/5 as many search results as the incorrect version. What I want to say is... someone made "bacon wrapped in asparagus." I always love these types of people who enjoy silly things.
By the way, I didn't know about the "friendfollow" Twitter tool. You can use it to find people that you follow but are not following you. Wow, people actually use this? What a strict world.
I rewrote an old post and added a new related topic:
Umaibo is a puffed, cylindrical corn snack. It costs only 10 yen and has many flavors like BBQ, salad dressing, mentaiko, takoyaki, cheese, curry, cocoa, caramel, chocolate, etc. As the king of junk snack foods, Umaibo is often used for silly challenges. For example, this is a "eat 1000 bars of Umaibo in a week" challenge. One guy actually ate 1000 Umaibo in a week, which means he had at least 142 Umaibo per day. Assuming he slept 7 hours a day, he had to eat 8 Umaibo every hour. Actually, he ate them at work, and even brought Umaibo with him when he visited his friend's home. Sometimes, he baked it, boiled it!, steamed it, and then drip-filtered it (finally, he come to the conclusion that he should not try any other methods). He could reach his goal of 1000 umaibo anyway.
Here is another good topic about Umaibo. An artist used umaibo to make buddha sculptures, called "tasty buddha." Ha ha ha, I love it.
By the way, Umaibo's mascot is strange. Apparently, it looks like Doraemon. And did you know this? The FCC (Federal Communications Commission in the US), an independent United States government agency, used a knockoff of Doraemon or Umaibo's mascot for their kids zone page. That character says "My name is Broadband." Using such a fake, copyright infringing character is okay as long as it is in an official capacity for the United States government? Ha ha ha
This may useful for something... maybe for looking at recipes while you are
cooking! What do you think? "Flip Flop Mouse"
Maybe I should be proud of this: "Japanese Guts Are Made for Sushi," you should be
careful when eating sushi if you have a sensitive stomach, you are not like us! :-)
Takuro Yoshida: a kind of Japanese Bob Dylan. I like this song very much, if you can understand it, you will like it.
Very interesting video: "Food fight". It shows the war by food, hamberger, suchi, kimchi, etc,. Here is the info each food means what.
I found a nice site about Japan:"ALT Japan". This post picked topic from an advice forum "Hatsugen Komachi". The forum's users are mainly women and the site is well known that their advice are shrill, tough and dry. Actually, don't worry, most women said "you are bitch!" to her. It's really fun to read, if you can read Japanese, I really recommend to read the site and you may know truth is more thrilling and unbelievable than fiction.
This is waiter robot in a Japanese restaurant in Thailand. He brings food orders to each table and dances to a strange song when he has nothing to do. I can accept that the robot wears samurai armor, but since the restaurant looks expensive, it's bad that they misrepresent Japanese culture by serving meat or vegetables with sushi, using the kanji "Spring" when the name is Hajime (which means "beginning" or "first"), etc. I must say that although they're trying to be a good Japanese restaurant, they can't quite follow through to the end.
I like this video. The cat can stand up so straight!! "What? what is that? Oh oh! Wait, wait, ohh what?"
Ahh, this blog part is cute, isn't it? It's called "hone hone chan", it means bone bone chan.
Design Festa Gallay Harajuku is a rental gallery space in Harajuku that is run by the same company that runsSakura House, which rents apartments and guest houses to foreign people. Recently, Design Festa Gallary opened a cafe inside and it's interesting to note that foreign people from Sakura house created the cafe menu. The most popular menu is worldwide mochi mochi (rice cakes). The dish consists of Tteokbokki (Korean rice cake) served with various dips (maybe curry, wasabi sauce, Korean hot sauce, salsa, etc.). By the way, twice a year, they have a big art event: "Tokyo Design Festa", I love that event, please check it out if you have a chance. I will go in May.
This is very odd but nice, Goody By Kitty! Kitty coloring book art, he he he
I laguhed and also surprised to read this post, a guy ordered 8 code covers at Amazon Japan. Then Amazon sent them to him in 8 boxes. I thought it's waste of paper when they sent me a book always, but can you believe this? What a waste!
Very cool, Master of Business Card Throwing. Maybe he is Korean.
Lotte hotel has opened in Kishicho today, comparing to other city hotel, I think they are pretty reasonable and if you like it, they have Koala's march room. In Japan, Koala's March had 12 kinds of Koara design pattern, but now it had 365! and we have city legend about its design. If you find a Koara with eye braw, you are lucky, or If you find a Koara with scar of removal of the appendix, you are lucky/unlucky etc,.
"Why? brothers" is flash animation movie directed by Yusaku Furuya who made comedey video "how to make people get pissed". Jack and Kenneth are American in Ohio, they are type of person who drink beer all day long basically. One day Jack got a nice mail from Japan. Jack will be able to get legacy from his distant relatives who lived in Gifu in Japan. So they decide to go to Japan and drove to Gife with their translater fred. On the way to there, they asked "why?" to everything like manner, common sense, everything they can't understand. This is such crazy road movie. Here is a trailer.
Ha ha ha great MJ video, this is a good Japanese one, I picked before, do you remember it?.
This year is the 30th anniversary of Pac-man, so we have some pack-man topics like circle K relesed pac-man dumpling, Nasa found a pac-man on saturn and finally pac-man will make into real action movie!! Here is a trailer. but this trailer was released on April firts. :-)
