BECK is a manga about boys on a rock band named "BECK". I am not sure but this manga was called Mongolian Chop Squad to avoide conufusion with Beck of UK like they changed their band name in the story. I've just began to read the manga since last week cause my coworker touted me :-). I can say it's not so bad. The manga was made into anime in Japan and live action film "BECK" is released in Japan in this summer. Takeru Sato play main character "koyuki", Hiro Mizushima acts as Ryusuke. These two guys would be most hottest young actors in Japan now. Here is a trailer, hmm manga seems to be better to me though.
i thought the reason they changed the name of the band when they went to america was because it was more "asian" sounding and therefore a gimmick to appeal to western audiences in the story?
does mongolian have some other slang or meaning in japanese?
the series is a definite watch/read since it is young teenage angst told through the discovery of music :)

Have you seen the anime of Beck? I was wondering if it was worth watching. I want to see the movie, only because I like Hiro Mizushima. :)

i just started reading 20th century boys! in a week, i've already read about 120 chapters. 120 chapters x ~20 pages each = 2,400 individual pages read! O_o
manga is too addictive.
